WHAT NEXT?
TODAY
Theresa May jets to Brussels to plead with EU leaders to extend Article 50 and delay Brexit. She is expected to address EU summit leaders this afternoon, setting out her case for a short extension.
TOMORROW
The Prime Minister joins EU leaders on the second day of their summit, but Brexit negotiations are not supposed to be on the agenda.
WEEKEND
Mrs May is likely to hold crisis talks by phone with senior ministers and some MPs. Tens of thousands of protesters are expected to join a “Put It To The People” march to Parliament Square on Saturday.
MONDAY
Mrs May updates MPs in the Commons on the summit. A debate is due to last at least two hours, with MPs possibly launching a bid to take control of the timetable.
TUESDAY
MPs could have a third “meaningful vote” on the PM’s deal, if it has changed enough for Speaker John Bercow to allow a debate.
WEDNESDAY
Prime Minister’s Questions, and it is around this time ministers must move to delay Brexit if an extension of Article 50 is agreed by EU leaders.
THURSDAY
The Government could try to force MPs to hold a fourth vote. If MPs have passed secondary legislation to delay Article 50, peers may need to pass the device. EU leaders could be called to Brussels for emergency talks.
FRIDAY
Under the EU Withdrawal Act, the UK is bound by law to leave the EU at 11pm, with or without a divorce deal.
