Thieves rob woman as she’s having an epileptic seizure
Husband blasts ‘zombie-like’ thugs
JORDAN ROYCE ON ROBBERY OF HIS WIFE LEONORA, 39 OPPORTUNIST robbers rifled the pockets of a woman as she lay helpless on the ground having an epileptic fit in a city centre.
The pair stole cash, cards and a phone and one of them tried to take 39-year-old Leonora Royce’s car.
Her husband said they clambered over her like zombies.
CCTV operators in Manchester alerted police and paramedics.
Husband Jordan, 50, said: “She fell to the floor and had a seizure. At this point a group of people descended on her like the Walking Dead. They literally clambered at her and clawed at her, taking all her possessions while she was at her most vulnerable.”
Leonora had been working late and started to fit as she went back to her car.
She could not remember what happened until police told her the seizure had lasted for about six minutes.
Footage of the incident on March 21, which has just been released, shows her on the ground next to the car as two men wearing dark tops with their hoods up start rifling through her pockets.
One of the men opens the driver’s door of her car and is seen sitting inside the vehicle. They flee seconds later.
Leonora, of Stockport, suffered bruising and needed dental work following her ordeal. But Jordan said she SHOCKED Leonora’s husband Jordan Royce could have been more seriously injured. He added: “When someone is having a seizure even intervening can cause damage. It is an absolute disgrace. “I hope the release of this [CCTV] is powerful as it may lead to someone being brought to justice.” Leonora said: “I’m not going to let it define me. I won’t let it change my daily life.” Police said a 46-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
