Toni after op, and our story in January A GREAT-GRAN who has had her first face lift at the age of 80 is so happy with the results that she is already saving for her next one.
Toni Goldenberg became one of the oldest people in the country to have the procedure after squirrelling away what she could spare from her pension in a giant Coca-Cola bottle.
It took her five years to collect £10,000 for the lower face lift, but she reckons it was worth the wait. She said: “I feel absolutely fantastic. It’s like a dream come true.
“The old woman has gone and I hope she doesn’t come back.
“I forget what I looked like before. My neck and jowls made me look cross and miserable but now I look fresh and happy.”
Now she wants an upper face lift and hopes to have the £6,000 for the op before she turns 85.
Before her procedure last month, doctors warned Toni the risks of general anaesthetic were much greater at her age and surgery could kill her or leave her partially paralysed. But Toni of Wall
ington, South London said: “I was willing to take that chance at my age. I understood the risks but I told the doctor, ‘At least I’d look good in my coffin’.” Toni, who was widowed 46 years ago, said her fresh new look has done wonders for her confidence.
She added: “I’m too old to get back in the dating game but I’d consider going out for a nice meal with somebody and sharing a man’s company.” Looking forward to her next face lift, she said: “I’m already using my Coca-Cola bottle. “I look in the mirror and see the baggy eyes, so I’m saving up again to have the area around my eyes and forehead lifted. “My friends said it’s the best thing I’ve ever done, and they have already chipped in towards my next facelift.” Lesley Reynolds of Harley Street Skin Clinic in Central London, where Toni went under the knife last month, said: “Toni’s swift recovery is a testament to her tremendous energy and force of life.” Toni prior to surgery
