CLOCK KENT

Kop kid Ryan KO’s Brown and doesn’t even see yellow

RYAN KENT got away with a left hook to Celtic skipper Scott Brown’s face as the Old Firm derby boiled over.

The Liverpool loanee swung at Brown, but did not even receive a yellow card just minutes

STEVEN GERRARD will make Alfredo Morelos pay for his Old Firm meltdown after the Rangers boss finally lost patience with his hot-headed striker.

Morelos left his side in the lurch with his fifth red card of the season for elbowing Scott Brown in the face during a bad-tempered showdown that all but wrapped up the Premiership for Celtic.

Andy Halliday was also sent off after the final whistle as the rivals clashed over Brown’s celebrations at the Rangers end, while the SFA will today pick the bones out of several post-match flashpoints.

And it could have been three red cards for Rangers as winger Ryan Kent, on loan from Liverpool, got away with one when he sent Brown flying with a punch.

Gerrard (right) had no complaints about the Morelos red. He said: “I’ve gone above and beyond for Alfredo. I’ll continue to protect him, support him and love him, because of the player and the person he is.

“But I’ve got to draw a line. He’ll be punished. I’ll recommend to the board he’s fined a week’s wages – and that the money should got to the supporters who came today. They are the ones who’ll suffer from his lack of discipline, along with his team-mates.

“The money is no use to the players. It’s more use to the supporters, so that’s what I’ll recommend.

“Alfredo accepted what I said to him after the game. In terms of his thoughts, it’s his responsibility moving forward.

I’ve said my piece.

“Will he get the message? That’s a question you’ll have to ask the player himself.

“I’m sitting here hoping and wishing and waiting.

“I can honestly say, hand on heart, I have done everything, as have his team-mates and my support staff.” Odsonne Edouard gave Celtic the lead after 27 minutes as Rangers struggled to stay in the game.

Four minutes later, Moreles received his marching orders. But remarkably Rangers rallied after the break and deservedly levelled just after the hour when Kent finished coolly.

Celtic were also reduced to 10 men 16 minutes from time when defender Dedryck Boyata went off injured after they had used all three of their substitutes.

But four minutes from time, a quick break offered James Forrest a snap chance in the box and he did not hesitate to bury the winner.
