Xsara’s joy as killer cancer vanishes

Xsara has beaten lymphoma A WOMAN diagnosed with terminal cancer and given days to live has told of her joy after stunned doctors found her tumours had gone.

Now, Xsara Sanderson has pledged to refund £3,000 raised by friends and family to pay for her funeral. The 20-year-old was told she had stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma last July, which had spread to other parts of her body.

She had months of chemothera­py but stopped in November as she could take no more.

Xsara was warned she may die within days and pals set up a GoFundMe page to give her the “perfect send-off ”. results I was adamant it had gone. When we went to get the results the doctor said there was no sign of any cancer at all. My doctor is dumbfounde­d.

“He has no idea how it’s gone as the chemo I had wasn’t enough. I think having a positive mindset helped.”

Mum, Stephanie, 39, described getting the all-clear as a “miracle”.

After her diagnosis, Xsara, of Scunthorpe, Lincs, started making her funeral arrangemen­ts, even choosing the songs.

She said of those who had donated to the service: “I wanted to give people the chance to have their money back because it’s not going towards that any more.”

The former mobile phone repairer revealed some of the cash will go to the Teenage and Young Adult unit at Castle Hill, Hull, where she was treated.

But in March she asked for a check-up as she

“had a feeling” the cancer had gone. And incredibly, scans showed the tumours that once riddle her body had vanished.
