The winger netted a firsthalf brace for his first league goals for the Welsh side since August 2014.

Brentford were better in the second period, but the electric Daniel James made the game safe with Swansea’s third. It meant the Swans secured a third victory over the Bees this season and ended a run of four straight defeats.

Dyer put Swansea ahead as Brentford suffered a horror start. A shocking back pass from defender Mads Bech Sorensen sold keeper Luke Daniels short and James looked set to capitalise.

The Wales winger was wiped out by Daniels, but referee Peter Bankes played advantage and Dyer couldn’t miss.

It was 2-0 when keeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt hit the ball downfield, the Bees’ defence could not deal with it and Dyer (left) slipped his shot between Daniels’ legs on 34 minutes. Connor Roberts hit the post in the 78th minute and James tucked home the rebound to seal the victory.
