Chippy boss stole £500k in jewel raids

PROWLER Asdrit Kapaj A FISH and chip shop owner stole jewellery worth more than £500,000 in a string of home burglaries that spanned a decade.

Asdrit Kapaj, 42, had targeted posh mansions in South West London, and was linked to raids on the homes of Boris Becker and footballer Nicolas Anelka, earning him the nickname the “Wimbledon Prowler”.

At Kingston crown court Kapaj admitted 21 counts of burglary, two attempted burglaries, and one of going equipped for theft dating back to 2008.

Kapaj, of Altrincham, Gtr Manchester, was yesterday remanded in custody until June 21.
