Tashaun Jones became the latest young victim of the knife epidemic when he was murdered in Hackney, East London, on Wednesday night.

It was the 27th fatal stabbing in the capital so far this year. A boy of 16 was also wounded during what police said was “some sort of confrontation” between two groups of youths.

Tashaun was knifed four times in the chest at around 9pm. A witness revealed he comforted the boy. He said: “There was a pool of blood. He couldn’t talk, he gasped – I knew he had gone.”

Tashaun’s family and friends left floral tributes at the scene yesterday.

His grandfather said: “This is a difficult time, we are suffering.” A woman was heard to scream: “It’s my son.”
