Wenger’s torn over Lyon bid

ARSENE WENGER has a dilemma over whether to return to full-time management.

Lyon are “desperate” to bring him in this summer, with the French club’s current boss Bruno Genesio on his way out.

There has also been strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite various knockbacks, Lyon are refusing to give up on securing Wenger’s services.

They have made it clear to the 69-year-old that an offer is on the table. FIFA have been in talks as well about a technical role for him.

Despite always planning to return to work, the choices Wenger faces have been brought into sharp focus by his year out of the game since leaving Arsenal last May after 22 years in charge.

Wenger (above) has had various family issues in the past 12 months which made him realise just how much he sacrificed while in the Gunners hot seat.

The Frenchman was able to spend more time with his daughter and his former long-term partner Annie, as they remain on good terms, while also carving out a reputation as a TV pundit with beIN Sports.

ARSENAL have had talks with Marseille sporting director Andoni Zubizarret­a and their former midfielder and current Brazil co-ordinator Edu as part of a shake-up of the club’s structure. Steve Morrow and Francis Cagigao are expected to have bigger roles.

Wilshere’s NCF Elites – which is going from strength to strength, has two different centres and is now running trials in the hope of setting up sessions for girls.

Arsenal and England striker Danielle Carter will be at the trials at Enfield on Monday and Wilshere (above) said: “I’m really excited how the Elites centres are progressin­g.”

ANDY CAIRNS was a hugely popular figure at Sky after 30 years with the broadcaste­r. Sky Sports News executive editor Cairns has championed diversity at the station and also done his best to break stories.

The change at the top might see more features on the channel as Sky continue to take increased use of their rights to interview more managers and do different sit-downs with players.
