TERRIERS SET TO GO WALKIES

- SOUTHAMPTON HUDDERSFIELD 1 1

Redmond Pritchard

JAN SIEWERT admits Huddersfield face a battle to keep stars Aaron Mooy and Alex Pritchard after the Terriers bowed out of the Premier League with just their 16th point.

Pritchard cashed in on a blunder by Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn to salvage a draw at St Mary’s by cancelling out Nathan Redmond’s first-half blockbuster.

Australian Mooy has been scouted by Saints while Pritchard is attracting interest from Wolves.

Asked if the pair had played their last game for the club, boss Siewert said: “It is possible.

“They are both good players and it is normal in our situation that other clubs have interest but we have to look at what is possible for us.

“We have to be wise in our position. We need to negotiate and we will talk to the players and at the end we will see what our squad will look like.”

Saints were laughing when Redmond cut in from the left before crashing an unstoppable right-foot shot into the roof of the net. But the home fans were growling after Gunn miscontrolled Ryan Bertrand’s back-pass, allowing Pritchard to swoop in and roll in the equaliser.

Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is planning an overhaul – with Charlie Austin among those heading for the exit.

Austrian Hasenhuttl said: “It is unbelievable the opponent had only one chance and we did not win.

“It was like a little picture of our season.

“This is why we have to do a lot of things in the summer to win more games in this league. We have to do better next year.

“We have had a good first step but I am clear we need to change a few things.

“The team will look different, that’s for sure.”
