You are all in denial. You’re in for a big surprise NIGEL FARAGE ON EURO ELECTIONS NEXT WEEK

NIGEL Farage had a meltdown on TV when challenged about his views on the NHS, global warming and gun regulations.

The Brexit Party leader was quizzed over whether he still wants to scrap the NHS and replace it with a privatised system, as he has said repeatedly since 2015.

He conceded that he believes private health firms should be used to “relieve the burden” on the NHS.

But, speaking on The Andrew Marr Show on BBC yesterday, he became irritated when asked if he still thinks trying to tackle global warming is a waste of time and if he still wants to relax gun laws.

Mr Farage reacted angrily to any question that was not about Brexit, calling the BBC “the enemy”.

He told Mr Marr: “You are not prepared to talk about what is going on in this country today. You are in denial.

“The BBC is in denial.

The Tory and Labour parties are in denial. I think you are all in for a bigger surprise on Thursday week [European Parliament elections] than you can even imagine.”

Mr Farage defended comments he made in 2016, when he suggested people with HIV should be banned from moving to Britain.

But the MEP failed to say if he is still offended by hearing people speaking foreign languages on UK trains. The former UKIP leader also defended the party’s Breaking Point poster campaign for the 2016 Brexit vote. It showed a line of refugees and was branded racist by some. Asked if he regretted it, he said: “No. It was the truth. If you think about that poster, it’s transformed European politics.”

Labour’s Jonathan Ashworth accused Mr Farage of being evasive about his past policies. He said: “Nigel Farage doesn’t want to stand on his record, because his record is one of wanting to privatise the NHS, big tax cuts for the very rich and penalising working people.”
