Rashford fit to roar for Lions

- ON THE MARC BY JOHN CROSS

MARCUS RASHFORD is ready for England’s Nations League campaign, having played through the pain barrier for Manchester United this season.

The 21-year-old did not tell anyone publicly about a series of injuries and knocks, which he bravely fought through during the past few months.

He is now fully fit again and desperate to help England win their first major trophy since 1966.

A source close to Rashford said: “Marcus is fit and raring to go, he loves playing for England and loves being part of the national team set up.”

The England striker was one of only 12 that trained earlier this week, with players such as Callum Wilson, Declan Rice, James Ward-Prowse and Jesse Lingard. Rashford is part of Gareth Southgate’s exciting young team that could pick up their first trophy this summer in the Nations League.

A shake-up at Old Trafford has seen Manchester United reserve team boss Ricky Sbragia, 62, become the first victim of changes this summer.

The former Sunderland manager (above) parted company after what was his second spell at United.

United’s age-group teams have fallen behind their traditional rivals – prompting a review of their set-up.

Speculation is mounting that Warren Joyce – reserve team manager for eight years until 2016 when he took charge at Wigan – could be set for a return.

Joyce has just left Australian club Melbourne City – owned by Manchester City – after a disappointing season which saw them finish fifth and fail to reach the Asian Champions League.
