We are hunting for wildlife supporters

-

Dear Biz

We all work at Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, Herts (pwpark.com), but as well as our day jobs at the zoo we’re involved in a conservation charity project called Drive 4 Wildlife. It raises funds to help equip conservation projects in Africa that support endangered species, such as cheetahs, rhinos and lions.

We went out to Africa earlier this year and donated a specially kitted-out anti-poaching 4x4 vehicle to help the rangers there protect the animals better. But we need to do lots more. We’ve attracted many brilliant individual supporters but could do with any tips or advice you have on attracting corporate sponsors to help support this unique wildlife project. Our first suggestion is to invite local firms and big brand names to the wildlife park so you can lure them in with, say, a fun and interactive experience day where they get up close to animals, and hopefully then become part of the team.

You get to meet these potential supporters, share your passion, and impress them with the work you do in the UK. You can then present them with the facts on the vital issues you are addressing in Africa.

Try and get them to adopt Drive 4 Wildlife as their firm’s charity and get their staff on board with fundraising events.

Keep an eye out for big-name bosses, firms and celebrities who are wildlife supporters, and encourage them to help you spread the word about your charity via their social media, or maybe at events they are holding.

Make friends with bloggers and networkers with lots of online followers who can get the word about your existence and goals out to a wider audience.
