Don’t let two-faced Swinson fool you...
■ JO Swinson is so self-serving she was happy to work with David Cameron’s appalling Tory Government for five long years along with her Lib Dem cronies – helping make the rich richer and the poor poorer.
Her party even accepted tax cuts for the wealthy and the cruel Bedroom Tax. She and the Lib Dems are as responsible as the Tories for the Leave vote – they drove people to it by ruining their lives.
Now she says she won’t serve in a Corbyn or Johnson government. Johnson I can accept, but Corbyn is a decent man who merely wants to alleviate suffering and poverty.
She should be going all out for an electoral pact with him to field a single Remain candidate in every UK constituency. That alone is the only way to stop Brexit.

■ Jo Swinson says she’s ready for Number 10, but voters should remember what happened the last time the Lib Dems were in power. Ms Swinson voted with the Tories for welfare cuts, the increase in state pension age, the hated Bedroom Tax, raised tuition fees, as well as fracking and badger culling. She even supported the idea taxpayers should contribute to the cost of a Margaret Thatcher statue. There is only one opposition to the Tories and continued austerity and that is Labour. If you are a working person, don’t shoot yourself in the foot by voting any other way. John Bainbridge Penrith, Cumbria
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lib Dems make important gains at the next election. Jo Swinson appeals to unhappy moderate Tories. There are also plenty of centre-left Labour voters looking for a new home because of Jeremy Corbyn’s lacklustre support for a second referendum.

■ Jo Swinson’s choices are contradictory. She says she won’t support Labour with Jeremy Corbyn in charge. So, what happens if we have another hung Parliament? Will the Lib Dems prop up another Tory-led government? That really would be an own goal.

■ I am afraid Jo Swinson is just another careerist politician like Boris Johnson. She has welcomed rebel Tory MPs into the Lib Dems – well, they should feel at home there because they couldn’t give a damn about austerity either.
As for Brexit, if she really wants to stop the damage of a no-deal she would work with Labour and other parties. It’s all ‘me, me, me’ with Ms Swinson.

■ The Lib Dems wanting to cancel Brexit without another vote is yet another knife in the back of our nation’s democracy.
We had a referendum and whether you agree or not with the result, that is democracy, not the way the dictatorial Lib Dems want to do things.
