Trump forced to drop golf course as summit venue

- BY DAVID SHEPARDSON mirrornews@mirror.co.uk @DailyMirror.

DONALD Trump has ditched plans to host next year’s G7 summit at his Florida golf resort after Democrats said he was misusing his office for personal gain.

The US President wanted to host the meeting at the Trump National Doral golf resort, near Miami.

But in a series of tweets, he said “Crazed and Irrational Hostility” from the Democrats had changed his mind. He wrote: “We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. I thought I was doing something very good for our country.”

Watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington said the initial TEED OFF Donald Trump decision to award the huge event to his own business was “stunningly corrupt” but they added the “reversal shows that pressure works”. White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney had said the President would not profit from the use of the property because any charges would be “at cost”. He added Doral was cheaper than other venues. But the White House did not release any documents to explain its costings This stunning photograph captures more than 5,000 male emperor penguins huddled against the late winter cold on the sea ice of Antarctica’s Atka Bay.

Each male bears a precious cargo on his feet – a single egg tucked under a fold of skin (the brood pouch) as he faces the harshest winter on Earth, with temperatures that fall below -40C, severe wind chill and intense blizzards.

The females entrust their eggs to their mates to incubate and then head for the sea, where they feed for up to three months before returning.
