- BY JEREMY ARMSTRONG

A £1MILLION lottery winner took a £10-an-hour job at Flamingo Land theme park to further his career.

Alex Best, 23, is determined to use his EuroMillions fortune to find work in music event production.

He said: “I did the sound for the shows. They have a caravan park as well as the theme park and entertain residents with music.

“There were house bands, and tribute acts like Typically Tina, Lady Gaga, and the Blues Brothers.

“Even after winning, wanted to get a job.”

His contract ended last week, but the university graduate is planning to use the experience at the park in Kirby Misperton, North Yorks, to start his own business as a sound engineer.

He said: “I have a strong work ethic, I did not want that to be wasted. I have made a couple of big buys, but work as much as I can.

“I have three houses, including the one I live in, the other two are investments. I still have over half of the winnings left, which I’ll use to set up my business. I just need to work out the best way to do it.”
