TROUBLED TV host Caroline Flack

CAROLINE Flack opened her heart to fans yesterday, saying she is going through “the worst time of my life”.

The TV star decided to step down as host of Love Island last week after being charged over a domestic incident reportedly involving her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

She wrote on social media last night: “This is the worst time of my life. I don’t know where to go to. Where to look. Who to trust. Or who I even am.”

Flack, 40, was arrested in Islington, North London, on December 12 following reports of a man being assaulted.

Police did not name the victim, who was not seriously injured. Burton, 27, later said

Flack had become the subject of a “witch hunt”.

She is due to appear on bail at Highbury Corner magistrates court today.

Laura Whitmore will take over her role on the ITV2 show. It followed Flack telling fans online: “I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down”. Whitmore said: “I want to thank ITV for trusting me at the helm of this huge show. I wish it was in better circumstances.

“Caroline is a brilliant host and also a friend. We’ve spoken a lot since she stepped down. She has been very kind to me and strongly pushed me for this role. I have big boots to fill. I will try and do it justice.”

Flack congratulated Whitmore in a message on Instagram. She added: “It’s a really rough time... but I’m doing all can to keep my head above water and sort this all out.”
