Dan the Man signs off 2019 in knockout style and sets his sights on a mouthwatering clash with Joyce, then a world title shot

DANIEL DUBOIS claims he is ready for a Battle of Britain with Joe Joyce after signing off 2019 with another knockout.

Dubois flattened Kyotaro Fujimoto in two rounds to make it five straight KOs this year and the unbeaten rising heavyweight star wants Joyce next. Joyce was ringside at London’s Copper Box Arena and Dubois said: “Bring them all on, I’m not hiding from anyone.” Dubois, 22, who has improved to 14-0, added the vacant WBC Silver belt to his WBO International title and claims he can soon earn a world-title shot.

“If I keep collecting these nice belts, I won’t be too far away,” he said. “These are going to get me into a mandatory position and then my promoter Frank Warren will do his job for me. He will pave the way for me, and I’ve just got to walk the path.”

Dubois and Joyce (right) have been circling each other for months and the 2016 Olympic silver medallist claims he is up for the fight too.

“I’m ready,” said Joyce.

“It would be a great fight, let’s get it on. I don’t have a problem. I’m ready to rumble. Throw some figures at me and we’ll make the fight.”

Warren says Dubois’ next fight will be in his Greenwich backyard at The O2 in April and he has promised to deliver him Joyce or another big name.

“Let’s make the fight now, let’s get it on, it’s a fight all the fans want to see,” he said. “We are going to do a big show at The O2 in April, which will feature Daniel, and I’m hoping it will be a big fight for him.” Dubois was at his devastating best against Fujimoto, who was ranked 13 by the WBA, and hurt him with his first jab. Fujimoto sensed Dubois’ power and tried to keep out of range, only to go down when he walked straight on to one of his piston jabs in the second.

The Japanese got up, but Dubois detonated a huge right in his face for a showreel KO.

“I landed a sweet shot and that was ‘good night’,” smiled Dubois.
