A FEMALE prison officer has been jailed after having a fling with a “dangerous” inmate.
Criminology and psychology graduate Ayshea Gunn, 27, took part in numerous phone calls, some sexually explicit, with violent robber Khuram Razaq, 29.
Colleagues noticed probationary officer Gunn was spending a lot of time with Razaq, a court heard. Snaps of the pair kissing in his cell at Category C HMP Berwyn in Wrexham, North Wales, were later discovered in her bedroom.
They also used mobile phones to send each other explicit sexual videos.
Gunn’s lawyer Peter Hunter said at Mold crown court yesterday: “Someone showed her affection and stupidly she accepted it. She’s remorseful and ashamed.”
She was jailed for 12 months after admitting misconduct in a public office. Razaq was serving 12 years for conspiracy to rob. He had already been jailed ROBBER Khuram Razaq for 10 years in 2008 for armed robbery. He will serve an extra eight months after admitting possessing a smartwatch and a mobile phone.
Judge Niclas Parry told him: “You are clearly dangerous.”
