Man, 75, held on Christmas Day ‘murder’
Victim was brother of reality TV star who dated Man United ace
A MAN of 75 has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 74-year-old woman on Christmas Day.
Police were called to an address at around 8pm, after reports a woman had sustained serious injuries.
Despite her family and paramedics trying to save her, she died at the scene, a North Wales Police spokesman said.
Det Chief Insp Brian Kearney said: “A 75-yearold man was arrested and is currently in custody.
“This is a truly tragic and very rare occurrence.”
Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, in Fairbourne, Gwynedd.
Flamur & Misse pose for camera
Swedish record producer Flamur “Alex” Beqiri was shot outside his £1.5million house after a family outing, police said.
The gunman fled on foot as neighbours battled to save the 36-year-old while his “desperate” wife screamed for help.
Mr Beqiri’s sister, Misse, is a model and former star of Real Housewives of Cheshire.
She separated from former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard in 2016, and is dating ex-TOWIE star Jake Hall.
Neighbours of Mr Beqiri say they heard as many as 10 gunshots before he died in the execution-style attack at around 9pm.
The dad was left lying in a “pool of blood” after being hit in the neck and stomach.
A nurse who was nearby fought to stem the bleeding until paramedics arrived.
But Mr Beqiri was later pronounced dead outside the terraced home.
SCREAMS
Vittoria Amati, 60, who was a neighbour of Mr Beqiri in Battersea, South West London, said: “I was watching television when I heard shots, one after the other very quickly. There was between eight to 10 of them. I then heard the screams of the wife.
“I came out and realised it was one of my neighbours. He was lying in front of his doorway in a pool of blood.
“He was still alive. We were really hoping he would make it. You have no idea how desperate she [his wife] sounded.”
Paramedics put Mr Beqiri in an ambulance before taking him out again to continue treatment, Mrs Amati added.
Another resident told the Mirror: “My children are afraid, I don’t know what to do.”
Swedish newspapers claimed Mr Beqiri was friends with the partner of Swedish murder victim Dr Karolin Hakim.
Ms Hakim was shot while carrying her two-month old baby in Malmo, in August.
According to reports, criminals operating in Sweden may be behind Mr Beqiri’s death.
Metropolitan Police said no arrests had been made and they were still trying to establish a motive for his murder.
Det Chief Insp Jamie Stevenson said: “Our investigation is in the early stages.”
