Mirrorman Mike, RIP

THE funeral of Mike Bowen, former deputy sports editor of the Daily Mirror, takes place on Monday.

Mike (below) began work on the Narbeth and Whitland Observer and went on to spend most of his career at the Mirror. He died aged 76 on New Year’s Day.

After retiring Mike spent time mentoring aspiring journalists and as chairman of Winchmore Hill Cricket Club in north London.

His funeral is at New Southgate Crematorium. He leaves a wife, two children and five grandchildren.
