OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER reckons he has got under Jurgen Klopp’s skin after the Liverpool boss branded Manchester United boring. United held the leaders 1-1 at Old Trafford earlier this season, and Klopp accused them of being a team that only defends. But on the eve of United’s trip to Anfield, Solskajer (left) said. “I take it as a compliment,

F A Pts 50 14 61 62 25 47 47 21 45 39 29 39 36 25 34 24 21 32 that we’ve defended so well. When the opposition manager is frustrated, that’s a good sign our boys have done well.

“I think we’ve been close to winning both my games in charge against Liverpool, so I don’t know what their problem has been.”

Solskjaer also admitted Liverpool’s 30-year wait to land the title should act as a cautionary tale to United, who have gone seven years without being crowned champions.

“That’s what we’re working hard towards,” said the Norwegian. “To make sure it doesn’t happen and let that be a lesson for us. We can’t let ours be that long.” The United boss is unsure if Marcus Rashford will be fit enough for Anfield.

The top scorer hurt his back in the FA Cup replay win over Wolves in midweek. “I can’t tell you now,” said Solskjaer of Rashford’s chances of recovering in time.

“We’re going to give him the absolute amount of time to find out.”

Harry Maguire is United’s new captain, with Ashley Young joining Inter Milan.
