THE DIARY

- with Jess Boulton

Graham Norton must be hoping Robert De Niro doesn’t win on Sunday.

The talk show star is making his debut hosting the film BAFTAs, after proving a pro at its sister TV awards.

But Graham is no fan of making small talk with De Niro, producer of Best Picture nominee The Irishman.

He had previously called the icon a “benign presence” who told such an unfunny story on his chat show, that it had to be cut. Meanwhile De Niro was slammed for being “miserable” and “grunting” on Norton’s show last October. It will be Graham feeling the heat on Sunday however as he must master the opening monologue.

Sheridan Smith and Caroline Flack previously complained about being the butt of Graham’s TV BAFTA jokes, so let’s hope he doesn’t offend the Hollywood crowd.

Kelly was 20 when she went to a bean-heavy macrobiotic dinner party at Madonna’s house, along with Gwyneth Paltrow. Unfortunately she let off more than just steam.

“I remember talking to Madonna and my stomach gurgling, and [then] I’ve let out the smelliest blow off – it filled the room,” Kelly recalled on her Heart London Drivetime show.

“It went straight up her nose.” Kelly was never invited back. Well, she did cross a Borderline...

Pay attention, Islanders!

New host Laura

Whitmore is dishing up some important love lessons after treating her beau to this yummy birthday tracksuit.

The show’s voiceover supremo

Iain Stirling, 40, may have thought the breakfast-themed combo was, ahem, egg-cellent, but surely there must be another eggs-planation for Laura’s sartorial choice?

He might be showing off some sausage, but I doubt Laura will have to worry about him being poached.
