ONE of the rarest rums in the world is being sold at a sobering £250 a shot.
Only 500 bottles of the special edition 60-year-old Havana Club 1519 were released to mark the Cuban capital’s 500-year history, at £3,000 each.
Two were bought by the Cubana Tapas Bar in Sheffied, which hopes it will appeal to connoisseurs.
Owners Adrian Bagnoli and Brad Charsworth travelled to Cuba to buy them.
Adrian said: “It’s an honour to purchase it... but at £250 per shot it won’t suit everyone’s pocket.”

Iris Jones did not spare their blushes as she said her Egyptian lover Mohamed Irbriham, 35, has reached the parts that had not been reached since before he was born.
She told ITV’s Good Morning: “I couldn’t walk the next day. I felt as if I’d been riding a horse.
“Saddle sore wasn’t even it. Nobody’s been near me for 35 years.

She added: “We used a whole tube of KY jelly.”
The retired cleaner met Mohamed on Facebook and within two weeks he declared his love. She flew to Cairo to see him last November, and after four days of passion they tried to wed.
Iris, who has sons Steve, 54, and Darren, 53, even “got on like a house on fire” with Mohamed’s mum, 70, who gave the couple her blessing.
But the British Embassy said Iris could only wed if she had her divorce
ltepapers and a certificate of no impediment, so she returned to Westonsuper-Mare, Somerset. She now plans to return to wed Mohamed, of Giza.
The Sunday Mirror told how he quit work after being refused time off to be with Iris. He said: “Love has no age... I do not care about anyone’s opinion – only what feels good.”
Iris added: “I just want to marry the man I love before I die.”
