STACEY Solomon’s colourcoded crisp rail has helped spark a surge in sales of kitchen tidy products.

John Lewis has revealed a 45% week-on-week increase in demand for items such as storage jars, labels and drawer dividers.

Store bosses have credited Instagram posts by stars such as Loose Women presenter Stacey.

The mum-of-three, 30, last week shared photos of her snacks hanging from a curtain rail, matching jars and tin cans organised on a revolving stand.

Gabrielle Anderson, at John Lewis, said: “The trend for decluttering shows no sign of slowing. Social media has opened up areas of homes [that were] behind the scenes.”

Keeler and car in 1963. Above, motor now

A MINI driven by Christine Keeler during the Profumo scandal is on sale for £20,500.

The model owned it in the early 1960s at the height of her liaison with the Tory War Minister.

Its sale comes after BBC series The Trial of Christine Keeler sparked new interest in the affair.

Keeler, regularly photographed driving the silver motor around London, sold it in 1964 after her release from Holloway Prison.

Car enthusiast James Morrison, who knew nothing of its history, bought it in 1989 because he wanted a boot lid for his own Mini.

It then lay unused in a garage and was restored two years ago.

James, 50, used the internet to discover its links with the scandal.

SILVER

The 1961 Austin Seven, still in its original silver paint, is for sale on carandclassic.co.uk

James, of Hitchin, Herts, said: “I only wanted it for the boot lid.

“It sat in my parents’ garage for years. I only considered restoring it after the rise in the classic car market and that’s when I discovered its history. The TV drama makes it a good time to sell.”

In the Profumo spy scandal, which led to the downfall of the Tory government, Keeler was involved with War Minister John Profumo at the same time as a Soviet naval officer. She later went to jail for lying under oath.
