SON FIRES WARNING

- BY DARREN LEWIS

HEUNG-MIN SON has warned Chelsea that Tottenham are ready to hunt the Blues down in the race for the top four.

The South Korean forward (right) hit the second of his club’s two goals as Jose Mourinho’s side stunned Manchester

City at the

Tottenham

Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

It reduced what was an

11-point gap when Mourinho succeeded Mauricio Pochettino in November to just four.

Spurs now sit fifth, with Chelsea firmly in their sights ahead of a showdown at Stamford Bridge on February 22.

“We have over 10 games now,” said Son. “We have a lot of games to play but at the end of the season we will see what happens. “We just try to be focused. We just try to get as many points as possible.”

Spurs, who host Southampton in their FA Cup fourth-round replay tomorrow night, next play in the Premier League a week on Sunday when they go to Aston Villa. Debutant Steven Bergwijn, signed for £25.4million last week from PSV Eindhoven, made himself an instant hero by scoring the first against City. In midfield Giovani Lo Celso impressed once again to mark himself down as a potential upgrade now that Christian Eriksen has left for Inter Milan. At left-back rookie

Japhet Tanganga continued to shine and in goal Hugo

Lloris pulled off a crucial second half save from Sergio Aguero as well as a penalty stop.

England midfielder Dele Alli believes the north Londoners are now ready to build on that moraleboosting win as they push for a return to the Champions League.

Alli said: “If you look at the table we know it is getting closer. We obviously know it is going to be difficult but we know where we should be as a team.

“Sunday is a massive result for us in terms of confidence.

“We have had a few games we were expecting to get the three points from and we haven’t and it is tough to bounce back. But Sunday was a great result.”
