THE DIARY

I remember when real f***in’ celebs came on the show

- with Ashleigh Rainbird

We may never know who Succession’s Logan Roy would back in the Labour leadership contest – he’d probably have backed Boris – but Brian Cox, below, who plays him, prefers Lisa Nandy, as “she seems to get it more”.

Keir Starmer is “a suit”, in Brian’s opinion.

He tells ES mag Keir is “too corporate... too much a lawyer.”

Selecting Rebecca Long-Bailey, he claims, would mean Labour “have learned nothing” from the last election, but he’d like a woman to take over. As long as it’s not Logan’s daughter Shiv.

At a time when recycling is of utmost importance, it’s nice to see Jim

Carrey is still using the green rubber face wrap he wore in 1994’s The Mask.

It makes a handy Halloween costume – and despite reprising his starring role, it allows him to go incognito. He tells The Russell

Howard Hour: “I love dressing up. Kids have no idea they were being given candy by the real Mask.”

Even the A-list

Kardashian family are heading All Round to Mrs Brown’s Boys.

It seems surprising the LA-based stars would even know about the BBC show, but Caitlyn Jenner filmed a cameo in Glasgow this week and even sat in potty-mouthed Agnes’s chair.

“Had so much fun appearing in this funny comedy,” enthused Caitlyn.

So maybe she hasn’t ever seen it... Al Pacino had to “exorcise” his negative emotions after the harrowing experience of playing a Nazi hunter.

The 79-year-old admits he finds it increasingly “draining” to recover from the emotional toll of getting into character on gritty dramas, such as his new Amazon Prime series, Hunters.

“It’s draining to do a day’s work,” he admits, adding he feels “exhausted” after having “exorcised” the character’s emotions .

Other cast members in the upcoming drama, set to premiere at the end of month, admitted they used laughter as a “healing tool” to cope with the challenging subject.
