BATTLE Patrick Pakeerah

A DAD last night vowed to fight a parole board decision to free his son’s killer.

Patrick Pakeerah’s only child Stefan, 14, was murdered by pal Warren Leblanc, 17, in 2004 with a knife and a hammer.

Leblanc was up parole from his sentence last month.

Yesterday Patrick, 57, received the news that the murderer had been deemed safe to walk free.

He said: “In the light of what happened in London at the weekend I thought they’d consider it more carefully. They seem to be releasing lots of people who commit more offences”.

Patrick believes Leblanc, now 32, will pose a danger until he shows remorse for the brutal 2004 attack in a Leicester park. The Parole Board has been contacted. for life

Lifeboat approaches Channel dinghy

A MIGRANT child aged around five is led to an ambulance after being rescued from the English Channel yesterday.

He was among the biggest surge of migrants crossing the Channel in any one day.

The youngster was brought into Dover on a Home Office patrol vessel after up to eight small boats were intercepted off the Kent coast in freezing conditions.

Three other children – one carrying a doll – were also taken ashore. Witnesses reported seeing some being carried off on stretchers while others were wrapped in blankets.

The rescue was launched after dinghies carrying around 90 migrants were spotted.

A group of some 28 people were pictured disembarking a cutter. A boat and clothes were spotted on the beach at Samphire Hoe.

Dover MP Natalie Elphicke said: “It is essential we put a stop to this appalling trade.”
