WAYNE ROONEY’S reunion with Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round will be televised live on Thursday, March 5.

Derby star Rooney (above) last played against United for Everton on New Year’s Day 2018 – but he is set to go up against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Reds in the last-16 encounter at Pride Park on BT Sport.

The week will kick off with BT screening Arsenal’s trip to League One club Portsmouth – FA Cup winners in 2008 – on Monday, March 2.

Then BBC One will show Chelsea’s meeting with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, March 3 – followed by the match between Sheffield Wednesday and FA Cup holders Manchester City on Wednesday, March 4.

MATEO KOVACIC has praised Frank Lampard’s leadership at Chelsea, while slamming Maurizio Sarri’s training methods as boring.

The Croatian midfielder joined the Blues on a permanent basis in the summer after a season on loan under ex-boss Sarri.

He said: “Lampard is exceptiona­l. Training is challengin­g and different from last season. That is the difference between him and Sarri, who made training monotonous.”
