Executed despite star’s campaign

KIM Kardashian spoke of her grief after a convicted killer she fought to save from death row was finally executed. Nathaniel Woods, 44, was put to death for killing three police officers, despite another man confessing to the crime. He had been granted a stay of execution by the Supreme Court minutes before he was due to receive a lethal injection – but hours later, the decision was reversed. Kim, 39, who is training to be a lawyer, championed the case with Martin Luther King Jr’s son. After the execution at Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, Alabama, the star said her “heart and prayers” were with Woods. trying to serve a warrant for his arrest for assault, in Birmingham, Alabama. A fourth officer was injured and testified against him.
His alleged accomplice, Kerry Spencer, confessed to being the lone gunman responsible.
Spencer, who is still on death row, insisted: “I’m the person that killed all three of the officers.”
But both men were convicted of capital murder in 2005. Prosecutors alleged they had conspired to lure the officers to murder them.
On social media the mum-offour TV reality star warned: “This is a tragic example of injustice.”
Earlier this week she visited the White House with three women who had sentences commuted by US President Donald Trump, allowing early release from jail.
