Sadly, I doubt that I’ll see much progress has been made since the 1970s. Instead of the cheesy, but innocent, family entertainm­ent provided by Miss World, we now have online porn which totally demeans women.

Many women still suffer horrific levels of sexual violence and domestic abuse. The gender pay gap is still wide with many women doing several jobs to escape poverty. The burden of unpaid work falls unequally on women, including the care of children and elderly parents. And we are further away than ever from world peace.

comments about the 1960s fizzy drink Corona. It had a song which started with the words “The Corona man is on your street, the Corona man is nice to meet…” I don’t think that would be the sentiment at the moment!

much for highlighti­ng the vile people who kill foxes for a living. I’ve been feeding foxes for three years now and watch how they approach our house, terrified of every noise and the absolute savage of a cat next door. All the fox wants is food, like any other animal. They were not born to satisfy vile hunters’ lust for chasing them to death.
