GEORDIES lose their virginity quicker than the rest of the UK, a poll found.

Lads and lasses from the North East average just 16 years, seven months before they have sex.

The second quickest into bed are from Yorkshire and Humberside, at an average age of 16 years, 10 months. Those from the South West on 17 years, two months came third.

Folk in Wales wait the longest and lose their virginity at an average age of 23 years, four months. Londoners came eighth at 19 years and two months.

Selcen Korkmaz, from website saucydates.com, which polled 2,350 adults, said: “Where we live clearly influences attitudes to sex.

“We were surprised at just how big the regional variation is.”

Police face crowd

THUGS smash up an abandoned patrol car in a rampage that left 22 police injured as they tried to stop an illegal street party.

Officers were also pelted with bottles and bricks by the unruly mob.

Video clips showed police without helmets or shields being forced to retreat while coming under attack.

They had been called to reports of a “large unlicensed music event” on a council estate and were met by a hostile crowd.

One witness, said: “After the police backed up, the group forced them out of the estate, throwing things at them and smashed up an abandoned police car.”

Scotland Yard said two of the 22 officers injured requiring hospital treatment after the disturbances on the Angell Town estate in Brixton, South London, on Wednesday night.

It also revealed a “small number” of police vehicles were damaged.

HORRENDOUS

Arrests were made for assault and public order offences and four people were in custody yesterday.

Met Police Federation chairman Ken Marsh said: “It’s a very, very difficult situation my colleagues faced, with an unlawful event taking place and upon arrival they are met with hostility from the off.

“No one expects this level of violence and hostility to just erupt at the speed it does. It’s horrendous.”

Met Commander Colin Wingrove added: “The violence shown towards officers is totally unacceptable and we will not tolerate it in any form.

“An investigation into the incident is taking place and those involved will be brought to justice.”

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said large gatherings during the Covid-19 pandemic are “deeply irresponsible and risk others’ lives”.

He added: “Violence against the police will not be tolerated.”

Home Secretary Priti Patel described the incident as “vile”.
