GRIMES TOASTS SPECIAL BREW

- BY ALEX BYWATER

MATT GRIMES admits striker Rhian Brewster is destined for the top – whether he stays at Liverpool or not.

Liverpool loanee Brewster (right) has impressed since joining Swansea in January and his nine goals are a big reason his team are still in play-off contention.

Swansea host Bristol City today and travel to Reading on Wednesday – and Steve Cooper’s men must win both and hope other results go their way to get into the top six. “We did some fantastic business in the January window,” said skipper Grimes. “Rhian, Conor Gallagher and Marc Guehi all came in and they’re players who are very highly thought of in the game.

“They are trying to make a name for themselves, so why not do it now and be a hero for the Swans?

“Rhian has got all the attributes to be a top, top player.

“I don’t know if he’ll get a chance at Liverpool, but I do believe he is destined for the top.”

HULL fans have reacted with fury at Grant McCann’s decision to duck his pre-match press conference ahead of the Tigers’ do-or-die clash against Luton.

Two days after watching his side humiliated 8-0 by Wigan, McCann (right) sent his No.2 Cliff Byrne to field questions.

Assistant boss Byrne claimed the pair were “sharing the workload” before confirming McCann would definitely be in the dugout today.

One fan described McCann’s actions as “creative avoidance” while another claimed he’d taken a leaf out of his defence’s group and gone into hiding.
