Lil added: “We’d love to live to 100. It’s not up to us, it’s up to him upstairs. But we both feel as fit as a fiddle.”
Doris said she was “proud” of turning 96 and added: “We will definitely be having a 100th birthday party.”

A GIRL who doctors believed would never walk has taken her first ever steps – to reach a sweetshop.
Felicity Edgar, aged three, was starved of oxygen during a delayed C-Section and later diagnosed with cerebral palsy, an incurable condition affecting movement and coordination.

Lil’s granddaughter Kerry Clarke, 35, said: “We’re still waiting for them to meet Jason Statham. For their 95th, I got [singer] Joe Longthorne to come to their party, which was their dream.
“But I don’t know where to start with Jason. Perhaps we can get him when he’s next in England for a premiere. They’d survive her first day. But she proved medics wrong and has now beaten a later prediction that she would never walk by visiting her favourite shop.
Amber, who also has an 11-month old daughter called Kalila, said: “It was one of the best moments ever. Now we can’t stop her and she is always getting her shoes to tell us she wants to go for a walk – it has cost us a lot in sweets.”
Felicity, who uses a walking aid, had to love to walk the red carpet with him. Any time he’s on TV they watch him. They really do love him.
“Nan said she’d be happy if it was Piers Morgan instead, if it’s too difficult to get Jason. But perhaps Piers could arrange it and they could have a double date. They had a lovely time when they met Piers, who said it was his favourite moment on TV.”

Trainee chef Amber, of Crayford, South East London, said: “The doctors said she probably wouldn’t make it through the night. But she’s a fighter.
“She has proved everybody wrong and is our own lockdown miracle.
“She has done this against the odds and it makes me so proud.”
