Can Nanny Jo do the trick for the Braidos?

E4, 9pm

SHE’S the real-life Mary Poppins, sent to America from Blighty to train parents with kids who are super tough to handle.

Nanny Jo Frost is a tad intimidating, but she’s no-nonsense and can get the job done.

In this opener, the Braido family from New Jersey are certainly no Brady Bunch, with Jessica and CJ totally overrun by their four children under five.

Four-year-old Rylie rules the roost, two-yearold Gage is hilarious – when he’s not screaming his head off – and five-month-old twins Chase and Dax rarely get a look in.

“I just can’t handle it. I need help,” says Jessica, who even wonders if Rylie has ADHD.

So it’s Supernanny Jo to the rescue. She arrives for the scariest part – observation day, with the Braido family

where she follows the parents around with a firmly raised eyebrow. Jessica and CJ are not consistent and don’t agree on anything. Jo also notices the “electronic device as babysitter” is in far too much use.

They can’t go out as a family because at least one child will have a meltdown, and mealtimes at home involve several tantrums. As always, Jo gives it to the parents straight, making them cry as she explains what they’re doing wrong.

You’ll feel sorry for everyone – the kids just want attention, but with four of them and two jobs, who can blame Jessica and CJ for feeling overwhelmed?

Jo gets to work, teaching them to “sprinkle praise” and “be firm” – and by the end, you just know she’ll turn them into the Waltons.

Or near enough…
