HOWE STAYS SILENT ON CHERRIES FUTURE

EDDIE HOWE last night refused to commit his future to Bournemouth and revealed he will discuss what happens next after tomorrow’s relegation showdown at Everton.

The Cherries will drop into the Championship if they do not win at Goodison Park, and even if they do, Aston Villa and Watford picking up points will still send them down.

Howe will not be sacked by the Cherries if they do see five years of top-flight football end tomorrow – as he saved them from dropping out of the Football League in 2009, and led them through the divisions in a remarkable rise to the Premier League, just six years later.

But the 42-year-old is thought to be considering a break when this gruelling campaign ends – whether the Cherries stay up or not.

Howe, when asked if he wanted to be at the Vitality Stadium next season, would only say: “That is looking past tomorrow.

“My commitment to the club has never changed. From day one I have done my best for the club and that will not change.

“We will have a sit down at the end of the season, regardless of what happens, and see what happens next.” The Bournemouth boss (right), who in his time at the Vitality has been linked with England, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton, among other leading sides, said: “We have to put away all of the noise and focus on a football match.

“I always think the next game is the biggest game of your career. Your future is undecided – you have to write the next chapter with what you deliver in the here and now.

“So the next game is the biggest game of all our careers.”
