JURGEN KLOPP says Liverpool will defend their title “with all we have” as they bring the curtain down on arguably their most successful season in history.

As the Reds prepare for the finale of an incredible campaign – each squad member receiving photos of themselves alongside the four trophies they have collected in the past

14 months – Klopp told his players to enjoy it all.

But he warned them that after the visit to Newcastle tomorrow, and a brief holiday, he expects them to be back for the new kick-off on September 12 with even more fire in their bellies.

“If we make a cut when the season is finished on Sunday, enjoy it, be happy,” he told his Kop stars.

“And then mid-August we start training again and from that moment on we will try it again with all we have. Nothing will hold us back.

“I want to see us fighting for whatever the next trophy is, fighting on the pitch and enjoying the hard work. As long as we do that we have a good chance.

“It is a really nice story the boys have written over the years but it is not finished yet – we decide when it is finished. We can make it even more uncomfortable for the rest. We will not change, we try to improve.

“Is it possible to improve it for a longer period? I would say yes.”

Some fans expected Klopp to offer an emotional farewell to Adam Lallana by including him in the side to face Newcastle.

But it is understood the England forward (bottom) will not be part of the travelling squad and will instead say his goodbyes to all the players and staff at the final training session of the season at the Melwood complex today.

It is a low-key departure for someone who has played such a high profile role in establishing Klopp’s vision at Anfield, with his designation as the leader of the famous gegenpress for the Reds.

And skipper Jordan Henderson (left) said that all the players know just how big a role Lallana, who moved to Anfield from Southampton in 2014, has played in the success of the past year.

“He’s been a massive part of this club’s success,” Henderson said.

“Even if you haven’t seen him much on the pitch, he still has a massive influence in the dressing room, so we will definitely miss

him.”
