JEFF HENDRICK is set to be Steve Bruce’s first summer signing at Newcastle after having his medical.
Hendrick is understood to have agreed terms and is moving to St James’ Park on a Bosman after leaving Burnley in June.

JADON SANCHO could become the next Ryan Giggs if he joins Manchester United. The club have made Sancho (left) their No.1 target but have stalled in their pursuit of the England and Borussia Dortmund sensation. The Bundesliga club sign the Republic of Ireland midfielder, 28, who quit the Clarets because they initially refused to offer him new terms beyond the end of the delayed season.
Hendrick made 139 appearances for Burnley, scoring 10 goals, following his £10.5million switch from Derby in 2016. are holding out for about £110million, but United value the 20-year-old closer to £80m.
They say they will look elsewhere should Dortmund not reduce the price, but Louis Saha says United must get Sancho.
Giggs (right) became the most decorated player in United’s history and Saha said: “Sancho is incredibly effective, probably the closest guarantee there is for a winger to score goals and provide assists. He is fast and has the end product.
“He can have a similar impact to Ryan Giggs on the left side.”
