Mum’s pride as school gives top GCSEs to lad who died of leukaemia

He went through three years of chemothera­py, which began in his final year of primary school and meant he had to miss his first year at high school. Adam was a talented SUPERFAN Adam in LFC footballer who loved shirt on a trip to Anfield Liverpool FC. In 2016 he had a dream come true when he was a club mascot and met all the players. Lynne revealed her son’s funeral was delayed because of lockdown.

She said: “We got told we could only have 15 people so we postponed it. “We had it on July 17 so we could wait and have at least 30 people – nine of his best friends came and then 21 of his family were there.”

She added she was really touched when people dressed in Liverpool FC red and “lined the streets” for Adam.

A PROUD mum has picked up her son’s “amazing” GCSE results five months after the beloved teenager passed away.

Adam Lacy, 16, died in March after a five-year battle with leukaemia.

But the brave lad was determined to sit his mock exams in December. And that meant his teachers could ensure his impressive grades were recognised this summer – and pass them on to his family.

Grateful mum Lynne, 47, was told her boy had achieved one A*, five As and two Bs.

The midwife from Prenton, Wirral, said:

“He did absolutely amazing. I was literally blown away, to be honest.

“Adam loved school and with everything he’d been through, and because he was so strong and determined, it made him believe he could achieve anything.”

Lynne approached Wirral Grammar School for Boys to see if there was any way she could find out what grades Adam had achieved.

She said: “His teacher said to leave it with her and she’d see what could be done. Then she messaged me saying I’d get an email from the board. It’s lovely he was recognised for his hard work.”
