FEARS FOR 3 LADS SNATCHED BY DAD

- BY TOM PETTIFOR Crime Editor tom.pettifor@mirror.co.uk @tpettifor

THREE young brothers are missing after allegedly being abducted at knifepoint from their foster home by their father.

Bilal, Mohammed Ebrar, and Mohammed Yaseen Safi – aged six, five and three – were playing in the garden when they were taken.

Their foster mum said she heard footsteps before Imran Safi, 26, attacked her during the raid on her home.

Hundreds of police officers have been working around the clock to try to trace the boys.

Commander Jon Savell said yesterday: “Our priority is the welfare of these three children.

“They have been taken from a place of safety and we are increasingly concerned about their wellbeing.” The foster mother, of Coulsdon, South London, was not injured but was left “very shaken”, Mr Savell said.

Detectives fear Safi, an Afghan, may have spirited the

Nissan seen in the area boys abroad or is being helped to keep them hidden.

Officers have been liaising with international partners and issued an alert to ports. Eight of Safi’s associates were arrested and later bailed. The incident, last Thursday, may have been sparked by the fact the boys were about to be formally adopted. Their mum is in the UK and has been in contact with police.

Chief Supt Dave Stringer said: “We are incredibly concerned for these three vulnerable children who are now being hidden by an individual who may be armed with a knife.”

A red Nissan Qashqai which was seen in the area has now been found and police are appealing for witnesses in order to trace its movements.
