Violent thug jailed for abuse
AN ABUSIVE thug forced his girlfriend to get nine tattoos of his name on her body – including one which said she was his “property”.
Nicola Frost, 32, was subjected to a campaign of horrific domestic abuse during her six-year relationship with
Aaron James Wharton.
The yob, 31, made her get a tattoo which said “Property of AJ Wharton” on her lower back so “nobody else would touch her”. The mum-of-five, of Northampton, was also forced to have other tatts of his name and initials.
He battered and bruised her following one knifepoint attack, during which she was punched, kicked and strangled.
Nicola said Wharton would “control every aspect” of her life and made her send him pictures of what she was wearing. She has now bravely spoken out after he was jailed for 24 months for actual bodily harm and handed a 10-year restraining order.
Nicola said: “He could control everything – where I went and who I would speak to. He was a 100% narcissist. “I would have to take pictures of what I was wearing and if I’d done my hair and make-up, he would call me a slag. “I had tattoos of his name on me. He said no one was going to touch me because I’m covered in his name.
“If I didn’t do it, there would be repercussions.” Nicola wants to give other victims hope. She said: “People need to know the signs and see it as abuse and to not doubt themselves, follow through and get out. “Now I can… get on with my life because he’s in prison. I’d like to see increased funding for domestic abuse victims.”
