NUNO LOVES SEEING STARS ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY

- BY JAMES NURSEY

NUNO ESPIRITO SANTO admits he gets a huge kick out of turning his players into internationals.

The Wolves boss faces another tough task this term to improve on two memorable seasons in the top flight, after finishing seventh twice and reaching the Europa League quarter-finals last term.

But Nuno (right) insists he isn’t fretting about their final league position.

Instead the hands-on coach says he took great “happiness” from seeing Conor Coady make his international debut for England last week. The Wolves skipper is the latest international at Molineux with Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, N Diogo Jota and Rui Pa Patricio in the Portugal s squad, while Adama T Traore was called up by S Spain.

Ahead of tonight’s trip to Sheffield United, Nuno said: “I feel truly happiness when I see them on TV with their countries. I share the pride and the joy they feel at that moment. It is all about that.

“The work of the coaches is to improve the players and take the best of each one.

“I am really happy that they grow and after that the national team coaches look at them to represent their countries.

“I always say it is the ultimate moment of a football career of a player to represent their country.

I am delighted I can help.”

Wolves have added to their Portuguese stable by raiding Porto for Fabio Silva (right) for £35million and Vitor Ferreira on loan. Brazilian Fernando Marcal has arrived from Lyon.

Nuno added: “What I am obsessed about is to improve the way we play and how we play.

“This is my obsession – to improve our football.”
