MONSOON CAN BLOW ’EM AWAY

Today’s rides at Newmarket

-

MONSOON MOON

2.05

I didn’t ride her on her debut but she clearly looks to have shaped okay in third at Ascot. You would hope and expect the race will have brought her on, and this half-sister to Logician is probably the one to beat on what we know going into the race.

BLUE SKYLINE (right) 3.15

I rode him when he won in soft ground on the July course here and he did it nicely enough, though I think the first-time blinkers here could well bring about some improvement in him.

It will be different ground this time but I do think he remains fairly handicapped off a 4lb higher mark.

THE MAX WE CAN

3.50

He has yet to build on his good fourth at Royal Ascot but he can now race off a 4lb lower mark here after the handicapper has finally begun to relent.

He will love the ground, so he has a chance if showing more than he has done of late.

ANGEL FAIRY

4.25

This is quite a hard handicap to call in spite of the fact that there are only five runners, but my filly has improved in each of her four starts.

I was on board the winner when she was narrowly beaten over 1m2f at Sandown last time and her pedigree gives me hope she will stay this extra 2f.

DULAS

5.00

We haven’t seen him since he disappointed when made favourite over 7f at Doncaster back in June, but maybe we just didn’t see the best of him there.

He won over this trip at Newcastle last season, a victory on which he looks to be on a fair mark. He is related to some decent winners, too.
