Kick-offs movedd earlier so that fans in pubs won’t miss the final whistle

PREMIER LEAGUE bosses have called time on Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool on Monday night – to stop pub-goers missing the end of the match.

The Anfield showdown has been brought forward by 15 minutes to an 8pm kick-off, due to the Government’s new lockdown measures on pubs, bars and restaurants. The fear was that viewers would miss the last few minutes of the

WEST HAM have been plunged into crisis just two Premier League games into the season.

It comes after David Moyes (above) and two players, Josh Cullen and Issa Diop, tested positive for coronavirus before the Hammers’ 5-1 Carabao Cup victory over Hull City.

But it is a major disruption to their preparations for Sunday’s home game with Wolves, even though Premier League chiefs are confident it will go ahead.

And club co-owner David Sullivan says he is getting depressed by the club’s failure to make any new signings.

The whole squad were forced to have a fresh round of tests yesterday, while a deep clean was done at the training ground and stadium to stop fears of the outbreak spreading.

The manager and two players will have to self-isolate for 10 days and provide a negative test before they can return, although it is understood Moyes does not feel ill or unwell and wants to take a “hands-on” role in preparing the team – even if it will be done remotely.

That comes on top of a difficult summer.

Fans are still upset after club captain Mark Noble voiced his anger on social media at the sale of young forward Grady Diangana to West Brom.

The hope was that the sale would raise extra funds as they have been chasing Burnley defender James Tarkowski.

But now they are struggling to bring players in and the loss of centre-half Diop for two games will only pile on the misery after losing to Newcastle and Arsenal.

Sullivan told talkSPORT: “I can’t say for sure that we are going to sign anybody. As each day passes, I am getting more depressed.

“I’m waiting for targets from the manager and we’ve got two or three bids in. Unfortunately, the benchmark is very high and they’re very hard to get, those players. Whether we get any of these players, I do not know.

“These are key players with decent-sized clubs, obviously outside the UK and they don’t want to lose them, so it’s difficult.”

Saint-Etienne centre-back Wesley Fofana, 19, is among the transfer target players that the club are looking at.
