Burrows in line to land his first Group 1 win

-

MINZAAL has the goingplaces profile to give trainer Owen Burrows a first Group 1 win by beating seven rivals for the Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes ( 3.00) at Newmarket today.

On the back of a fourth at Ascot in July, the Mehmas youngster scored with ease at Salisbury 15 days later, before stepping up to Group 2 level for the Gimcrack Stakes at York last time out.

It was that race that showed Minzaal’s true potential as Jim Crowley’s mount travelled with ease before beating Devilwala by two lengths. Now in the top tier, this exciting colt can pass the toughest test of his career with flying colours.

Karl Burke’s ( right) DANDALLA is fancied d to defend her unbeaten n record in the Group 1 Juddmonte Cheveley

Park Stakes (2.25).

The Newcastle debut winner sluiced d home by six lengths in the Group 3 Albany St Stakes k at Royal Ascot in June.

Ben Curtis’s mount was less impressive in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at

Newmarket’s July Festival, scrambling home by a head from Fev Rover.

But Dandalla had run a high temperat temperature a week earlier, and rem remains a top prospect. The Group 2 J Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes ( 1.50) looks tailor-made for

GEAR UP.

The Mark Johnstontrained tra son of Teofilo is two from two – both victories coming at York – and the way he came home to capture the Group 3 Acomb Stakes over seven furlongs suggests a mile will show Gear Up in his best light yet.

At Haydock Park, FANTASY KEEPER is the selection to show the benefit of a return-to-action 10th over course and distance by landing the Close Brothers Motor Finance Handicap (2.40).

Earlier, HAYADH gets the vote to rack up a third success of the season in the Close Brothers Handicap (2.05).

The ITV cameras are also rolling at the Curragh, where HIGH DEFINITION looks a worthy favourite for the Group 2 Alan Smurfit Memorial Beresford Stakes (3.15).
