Taylor reckons Ramirez is getting twitchy after his devastating demolition of Khongsong

JOSH TAYLOR reckons Jose Ramirez and his team are twitchy over the thought of facing him in an undisputed clash next year.

And watching the Tartan Tornado blow away Thai mandatory challenger Apinun Khongsong in 161 seconds won’t have settled them down.

Taylor, 29, defended his IBF and WBA lightwelterweight crowns with a stunning first-round knockout at the supporter-less York Hall on Saturday night.

Now all eyes are on a clash with WBC and WBO king Ramirez. Taylor said: “I think he has already got doubts anyways.

“They are talking a lot of nonsense and I know they are worried.

“I know for a fact their a***hole is twitching like a rabbit’s nose. I’m ready to go, I’m not afraid of anyone.

“If his manager was that game with his fighter, he would have ended up in the World Boxing Super Series tournament. That sent massive signals when they declined to go in that.

“I don’t think Ramirez is afraid but his manager and team having faith in him – that is a different story.”

Taylor spent 11 months out of the ring after his epic win over Regis Prograis to win the World Boxing Super Series last year.

But he needed just one shot to finish Khongsong as a left hook to the body left the visiting fighter in agony before he was rushed to hospital with suspected broken ribs.

“I think I’ve put his rib cage out his back. I’ve definitely caved his rib cage in,” said Taylor.

The one problem for Taylor facing Ramirez next is fellow Brit Jack Catterall being the mandatory challenger for the American’s WBO belt.

He added: “Catterall is a great fighter.”
