Hoping Oisin clears name

-

KIEREN FALLON and Frankie Dettori both served bans for cocaine use and now Oisin Murphy could face similar punishment having, like those two, tested positive in France.

Murphy emphatically denies EVER taking cocaine. “I will fight to clear my name,” he declared.

Let’s hope he wins that fight. Murphy (right) is a leading ambassador for his sport and taking cocaine would be no example to set. t

But, at a moment like this, it is worth remembering how the pressures of race-riding, and the unnatural requirement to maintain a weight of around eight stone, can take its mental toll.

Fallon and Frankie were forgiven… probably because their job is so unforgiving.

TONY KHAN’S clumsy social media intervention after Fulham’s home defeat to Aston Villa should serve as a reminder to all owners, chief executives, managers or players that genuine fans never need apologies.

Just as they don’t need refunds for long journeys that have ended in humiliating defeat.

You take the rough with the smooth, the bad times with the good.

Support is unconditional, no apologies are required.

FOR £250million, Floyd Mayweather says he would fight Conor McGregor again because the Irishman “can’t punch” and “don’t hurt”. MMayweather (left) aand McGregor pulled off one of the most lucrative sporting con tricks when they gogot into the ring for a first time. Surely no one would fall for it again?
