Leandro aims to end Albion Ard luck story

- BY JOHN CROSS

LEANDRO TROSSARD can probably count himself the unluckiest player in the top flight.

The Brighton forward earned himself an unwanted Premier League first of hitting the woodwork three times in a match during Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester United.

He had more bad fortune in midweek, denied a goal by a superb save from United keeper Dean Henderson when the teams met again in the Carabao Cup.

Trossard (above) has been in excellent form but admits goals are proving hard to come by.

Asked if he thought his luck was out, he replied: “I do feel a bit like that. It was an incredible save of Henderson and in the game on Saturday, I was unlucky.

“I know how close I was, especially the third one that hit the bar was really close. It was just one of those days.

“It’s about centimetres. You have to deal with it and I try to move on quickly because otherwise it sticks in your head and there is nothing you can do about it.

“Last season I had five goals, I tried to get more this season and hopefully I’ll reach that aim. Obviously it’s not that easy - as you’ve seen

“I’ve done well in the first three games with a goal and an assist and I hope I can build on that.”

Albion have not had the best of luck either, having played really well and made impressive strides but losing their three league games to date. They will aim to change that at Everton today.

Trossard added: “We started really well up until the last game. If we can continue to play like this then we can make a lot of points.”
