RAMBO CAN’T ESCAPE JUVE COVID BUBBLE

- BY JAMES NURSEY

AARON RAMSEY will miss Wales’ Wembley friendly with England on Thursday after his club Juventus put their players into a bio-secure ‘bubble’.

Two non-playing staff members at the Turin club tested positive for coronavirus and the whole team have gone into “fiduciary isolation”, which Juventus said means the players can “carry out regular training and match activities, but will not be allowed contact with (anyone) outside the group”.

Wales hope that Ramsey will be available for the he following Nations League games away to the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria.

Ramsey’s absence is a further blow to manager Ryan Giggs, who has become used to being without the 29-year-old former Arsenal playmaker.

A succession of injuries has meant Ramsey has only started once for Wales since the start of 2019, the decisive Euro 2020 qualifier when he scored twice in a 2-0 victory over Hungary.

Giggs has also lost West Brom striker Hal Robson-Kanu to injury for the October triple-header and was already without captain Gareth Bale.

Bale was allowed to train at Tottenham during the international break as he recovers from a knee injury picked up last month.

Giggs has backed Neco Williams to underline his quality against England this week after his social media nightmare.

The Liverpool right-back won his second cap in Wales’ last game against Bulgaria when he bagged a 90thminute winner.

But Trent Alexander-Arnold’s deputy has since come in for criticism following his display in Liverpool’s 7-2 Carabao Cup win at League One Lincoln last month. W Williams, 19, (l (left) who the F FA tried to get to defect to the Three Lions, responded by blacking out his Twitter account.

Giggs has backed the youngster ahead of Thursday’s match and said: “He is still learning but what a talent.

“He was a delight to work with. All he has got to do is knuckle and down and keep improving as a young player.

“Neco has a sensible head on his shoulders. He is at a fantastic club with a brilliant manager.

“You have to surround yourself with the right people which I know Neco has. Social media wasn’t around when I was a player.

“Now it is part and parcel of not only football but life.”
