Occult obsessed murderer aged 53 let out of prison

A SADIST double killer has been freed from jail to the fury of his victims’ families.

They were convinced that occult-obsessed Paul Bostock should never go free.

He was 19 when he got a double life sentence for frenzied attacks on two women.

The teenager stabbed doggroomer Caroline Osborne, 33, in the neck in 1983.

Two years later he slashed 21- year- old nurse Amanda Weedon 37 times in the neck, chest and thigh as she walked home from a shopping trip.

Hours before the attack he visited his first victim’s grave.

Both killings were in Bostock’s home city of Leicester.

Amanda’s family says he should not be free because of the depraved nature of his crimes and because he’s still relatively young at 53.

Amanda’s brother Martin, 61, of Loughborough, Leics, said: “Our honest belief is that he remains a danger. You try to avoid being consumed by anger but it’s always there.

“We don’t believe this man should be out. We took it as far as we could but there was nothing more we could do.”

At his trial in 1986, Bostock admitted both murders.

Leicester crown court was told he was a sadist who was obsessed with the occult.

ANIMAL

In a letter from prison he wrote: “I have destroyed everything. I have ruined my victims’ families’ lives and the life I had planned. I am an animal who deserves to be locked away.

“If I suffer for 100 years I will still deserve more.”

Bostock was released last month after approval was given by the Parole Board.

His victims’ families were told of the release but do not know where he is living or whether he has a new identity.

He remains under licence and tight restrictions, including wearing a tag.

He is also banned from contacting victims’ relatives or entering Leicestershire, Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire.

Amanda’s father Horace, who died in March aged 92, had led the family fight against Bostock’s bids for freedom.

He called for his daughter’s killer to die in jail, adding: “He’s not fit for release, ever, with a tag or without. Who’s to guarantee he won’t do it again?”

According to the Parole Board, Bostock engaged with psychologists while in prison.
